I think a lot of times, as women and as moms we think we can/need to do it all. I don’t know about you, but deep down there is something inside me that finds a particularly heroic identity in carrying as much of the load as I possibly can and proclaiming loudly ” I am a woman, hear me roar!”
There is a certain vibrational energy to that mode that can be rough, hard, impenetrable.
I don’t know if it’s the last vestiges of our mother’s woman’s movement, the current movement or the fact that the recession took so many good men down to devastating financial lows…but most women I know, do it all.
They work full or part time, they do the house and the child care and all that comes along with that. They are the problem solvers, the finders of all lost things, the cooks, the maids, the chauffeurs, the secretaries, the lovers, the wives, the mothers, the teachers, the friends.
And whether it’s by design or not – what I’ve noticed lately is that the harder I face the world with this “I can and will do everything” mentality the less headway I make in actually getting what I want.
Meaning…when I put on my warrior gear, my “Nothing is going to stop me” attitude, I loose a certain softness.
And while this attitude of action is absolutely necessary to move, grow, shift, manifest and build the life we desire – there is also a softening that is vital for being open to receive the benefits of our hard work.
I am aware of the differences in my vibrational energies when I go from work mode to tucking my daughter into bed. It’s the quiet cuddle, the hushed tones, the giving and receiving of hugs and goodnight kisses.
It’s how I feel when I appreciate the sweetness of something or someone. I can access it through gratitude or through focusing on my breath, or just being 100% present in a moment that moves me.
It’s letting down of the guard and allowing the wonderful of the world to touch you and shift you.
I think sometimes we avoid really connecting to this feeling because we think if we allow ourselves to truly feel this softness, to live there for longer than a moment that we will loose some the momentum we gained through our warrior.
It is in fact, quite the opposite. Intentionally allowing long moments of quiet vulnerability, long moments of release, long moments of openness, long moments of appreciation actually prepare our lives to be in a place of receiving.
They help to open us up, clear away negativity and make space for all the good that is coming our way.
Creating a daily practice around being open is vital for the Universe to respond to your requests for guidance, for insight, for help. If you are an island, the Universe has a very difficult time getting in there and lending a hand.
Manifesting requires intention, but it also requires being open to receive, so allow yourself this softness, in fact, relish in it.
You are important enough to receive all the good the Universe has to offer. It is your birthright. I cannot promise miracles, but I can guarantee it will change your life.
