Happiest of birthdays to my baby sister, beloved companion of the heart and one of the three people who truly understands where I came from.
(Kathy as a baby, so so cute)
She is generous, she is present, she is thoughtful. Kathy is profoundly committed to the things she cares about and lives in accordance with her values than anyone I’ve ever known. I admire that deeply.
Her glass is always two-thirds full. She looks for the best in everyone. She rolls with the punches and makes the best of every situation. She’s not afraid to laugh at herself or others.
(Our memorable trip to Vietnam)
(“She believed she could, so she did”)
Without you, growing up on 6th Avenue East would not have been the same. Over the years we’ve shared so much. A teensy, tiny bedroom. Raggedy Ann doll. Blunt uneven bangs. Big poofy dresses and itchy unitards. Mohawk excursions. 54 cents McDonalds cheeseburger runs. Fishing trips and endless dreams.
I love your zeal for life, your carefree attitude and your giving spirit. I love your fashion sense and your frugal business thinking mind. I love God for giving you to all of us.
You are such an incredible person in every aspect of your life. I am so proud of you, all that you have accomplished so far in your life. It’s been incredible to watch you grow and change. I love the woman you’ve turned into – you’re beautiful inside and out, strong, passionate and funny.
Thank you for your example of a way to live a life of integrity and purpose.
You are treasured by your family. Happy Birthday and may it be the best one yet.
I love you with all my heart.
